About The Specimen

Died and came back, life seems a bit better now that I feel like I'm not supposed to be around to see it. Every breath and coffee shared makes me emotional now.

How do people write about me's again?

Why Apotheosis?

The first time I conscienly registered the use of the word of apotheosis was in a public crowd by a mall and it honestly felt like the word started to haunt me from then on.

It was in the books I read, the music I listened to and the games I played. It just kind of stuck. I started using it for a self-insert character who used the name Theo for short.

For a very long time the only definition of the word I knew was 'the highest point in the development of something; a culmination or climax.' and thought it was sick as all hell.

Then I found out the secondary meaning which is 'the elevation of someone to divine status.' and that made me change my whole outlook on the word and what I was using if for prior to discovery.

It's no secret I have had negative expiereences involving religion so for that reason or for an unknown other it struck chords in me and now it's my website name and all around my current 'word obsession'

Why Veyther?

So funny story back in 2021 I met someone and we became fast close friends and decided to work on a project together and half a year later the project got it's name 'rend.'

From there we needed place names and to water it down to basics there where two parralel places and the spooky place I named Veyther. Honestly still suprised about how solid the name came out.

Then on a whim I changed all my handles to it and well it's been like that ever since.

Why a website? / Website History

Why not? I actually started the whole neocities thing for a place to host my Twine Game about taking care of a haunted hous, the project ended up being abandoned and so my account sat.

I always like tweaking codes and css on sites that allow it, tumblr, toyhou.se, copycat MySpace pages, I just found it super fun and coding was an end goal of mine since more than anything I wanted to create things, mostly being games.

One day when I was scrolling on toyhou.se and wishing I could do more and make wiki like pages for my characters and stories, then I came across a profile who had a neocities account and it just kind of hit me like oh I have one of those.

I was bad at it like really bad but I that's also the life cycle of learning so I pushed through and taught myself how to code html and css, I'm still not the best after all this time and more than half my code is a frankensteins monster situation.
